Gujarat gym manager arrested after women allege hidden cameras, blackmail, abuse
Police in Gujarat’s Surendranagar have arrested the manager of a gym after a woman alleged that girls visiting the facility were being blackmailed and forced into relationships. Police also seized a pen drive, blank cheques, an account diary and other material from the gym as part of the investigation.
The gym, Club 71, operates at two locations on Dudhrej Road and 80 Feet Road in Surendranagar. Several girls from the city visited the two facilities, where Amin Multani worked as the manager.
The case came to light after a woman wrote to Premsukh Delu, a senior cop, alleging that illegal activities were taking place at the gym. She alleged that girls were being blackmailed and forced into relationships, and that their photographs and videos were being recorded in the changing room using hidden cameras.
Following the complaint, police launched an investigation. Several police personnel conducted a raid at the gym at night after posing as people interested in taking admission.
During the operation, police seized a pen drive, blank cheques, an account diary and other material. Amin Multani and a gym worker were subsequently arrested.
Police said the pen drive contained photographs and videos of women, including purported nude images and videos. The material has been sent to a forensic laboratory to determine its authenticity and establish whether the images and videos are genuine or AI-generated.
Police also said the recovery of blank cheques and an account diary raised suspicion that the accused may have been involved in an illegal money-lending business.
However, police clarified that no hidden camera was found inside the gym or its changing room during the search.- EndsInputs from Sajidbhai Belim
