Here's why 'The Voice Kids PH' opening number carried so much power and joy - GMA Network

Julie Anne San Jose, Yeng Constantino, and Gloc-9 delivered such a strong opening number on "The Voice Kids Philippines," which premiered Sunday night.

Julie Anne opened the show with her powerful single "Simula," before introducing Yeng Constantino who sang her hit song "Time In." Finally, Gloc-9 closed the number with "Simpleng Tao."

But there's more to the opening sequence than the OPM superstars simply singing their hits.

Julie Anne' number was prefaced by the Pundaquit Virtuosi, a highly acclaimed Zambales-based Filipino youth string ensemble.

Founded by renowned violist, the Juilliard trained Alfonso "Coke" Bolipata, the Pundaquit Virtuosi is comprised of young children from the modest coastal town of San Antonio, Zambales.

Through Bolipata's initiative, the children have been given access and training to classic music that have transformed their lives. Witness: the Pundaquit Virtuosi has toured Europe, stirring audiences with their heartfelt performances.

Yeng meanwhile was joined by previous "The Voice Kids" winners and finalists turning the performance into a joyful party.

Finally, Gloc-9's number was given depth as he was joined on stage by Filipino sign language Performer Prince Jobel Sumili, who signed "Simpleng Tao" with much aplomb.

The three OPM stars are the superstar coaches for this season of "The Voice Kids Philippines."
