Historian: Yasukuni Become War Criminal Shrine Since 1978

Alexis Dudden, professor of history at the University of Connecticut, tells CGTN that Tokyo's Yasukuni Shrine has been a shrine to Japanese war criminals since 1978, when 14 Class-A war criminals were enshrine there. She argues that neighboring countries understandably wonder why Japan is arming itself to the teeth when it still has not fully come to terms with its brutal wartime past.
