Honda Atlas ends BR-V production
KARACHI: Honda Atlas Cars Ltd (HACL) has discontinued production of the Honda BR-V.
A senior executive of HACL told Dawn on Tuesday that it faced no issues procuring parts and accessories from Japan or other countries. “Actually, the vehicle has completed its lifecycle, and that’s why its production has been halted,” he added.
He said he cannot say whether the company intends to bring any replacement for the BR-V in the near future, as production volumes remained low at around 25-50 units per month.
The company has also removed the BR-V from its official website, while all other cars are well displayed.
Data from the Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA) show combined production and sales figures for the Honda BR-V and HR-V.
Total production and sales of the BR-V and HR-V plunged to 120 and 191 units in July-August, down from 1,460 and 731 units in the same period in 2025.
As per PAMA data, Honda BR-V assembly began in April 2017 with 648 units, while 527 units were sold in the same month. From FY22, PAMA started issuing combined production and sales data for the Honda BR-V and HR-V.
From the PAMA data, it seems both the BR-V and the HR-V have struggled to attract buyers since the entry of Chinese and Korean models, especially hybrid, range-extended electric vehicles, and pure battery vehicles.
One Honda dealer said the BR-V has already been missing from Honda showrooms, and buyers have shown little interest in booking the vehicle or in on-the-spot sales.
Honda vendors also confirmed the BR-V’s production closure, as the vehicle is not selling well and the company has to stop production.
