Hubballi gears up for grand finale of Ganesha festival on Friday

Hubballi has geared up for the grand finale of the public celebration of the Ganesha festival on Friday, with various Ganesha Mandals, civic and police authorities making elaborate arrangements for smooth conduct of immersion processions of Ganeshs idols.
As the culmination of the annual colourful event attracts thousands of people from various places across the region, who come in groups to watch the grand spectacle of idols being taken in procession for immersion, necessary steps for crowd management, security, and traffic regulation have been taken.
Additional police forces will be deployed at important junctions and along the procession routes. Apart from this, drone cameras will keep an eye on the developments.
In view of the mega event, the police have made temporary traffic arrangements and identified parking spaces and appealed to the people to cooperate with the administration for smooth conduct of the event. The traffic diversions will be in place on Friday from 1 p.m. to Saturday till 1 a.m.
Vehicles approaching the city from Gadag Road, Navalgund Road and Sulla Road and proceeding towards Bengaluru will be diverted through Ramesh Bhavan, Bengeri, Gopanakoppa, Unakal P.B. Road and Gokul Road and Hubballi-Dharwad Bypass Road. Heavy vehicles from Gadag and Navalgund are barred from entering the city and are requested to proceed through the ring road towards Benglauru and Karwar.
Vehicles approaching the city from Karwar Road Interchange are barred from proceeding towards Indi Pump and will be diverted via Bypass Road and Gokul Road. And vehicles from Bengaluru will also be diverted via same route.
Vehicles from Karwar Road will be diverted via Heggeri Colony and Moffusil Depot to reach Gokul Road. No vehicles will be allowed to proceed from Indi Pump to M.T. Mill.
Vehicles proceeding towards Karwar will be diverted via Gokul Road and Bypass Road and same is the route for heavy vehicles from Vanivilas Circle and Lingaraj Nagar.
Barring vehicles carrying Ganesha idols, no other vehicle will be allowed on the Laxmi Weigh Bridge-Glass House, Girani Chawl road.
Parking facilities have been identified for vehicles entering the city for the public darshan. The designated locations include the M.T. Mill (Girani Chawl) Ground, Nehru Stadium, open space behind U Mall, Moorusavir Mutt Ground, Lamington School Ground and the Chennamma Circle HDMC Ground, HDMC Office, Chitaguppi Ground.
The Hubballi Dharwad Police Commissioner has also issued an order banning parking of vehicles on the following roads on Friday.
Accordingly, parking is prohibited on Friday from Old Bus Stand to Hosur Well; Hosur Well to Mahila Vidyapeeth’ Shanbhag Circle to Girani Chawl Cross; Neeligin Road to North Traffic PS to Hosur Well; Hosur Circle to Gokul Road; Shirur Park Circle to Tolanakere; Mirjankar Petrol Station to M.T. Mill Circle; Ghantikeri PS to Durgad Bail; R.K. Galli Cross to Shivaji Circle; CBT Mosque to Parag Hotel; Mukkeri Galli to Durgad Bail; Shivaji Circle to Tulajabhavani Circle; Shivaji Circle to Chitaguppi Circle; Vanesons Cross to Coen Road; Tulajabhavani Circle to S.T. Bhandari; CBT to R.K. Galli Cross; Sarvodaya Circle to Gadag Road Underbridge; Gadag Road Under Bridge to Sangolli Rayanna circle; Sangolli Rayanna Cross to Sai Mandir, Old Court circle, Sharada Bhavan, AC Office to Hosur Well and Idgah Maidan next to Chennamma Circle.
