The Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) in Hyderabad has been recognised as the ‘National Energy Leader’ for the eighth consecutive year at the 27th edition of the CII National Awards for Excellence in Energy Management 2026 held here. The airport was also named an ‘Excellent Energy Efficient Unit’ for the tenth consecutive year.
The CII National Awards for Excellence in Energy Management recognise organisations for measurable improvements in energy performance, innovation, energy conservation and sustainable practices.
The awards followed a rigorous evaluation of innovative and energy conservation projects, sustainability leadership, implementation of the ISO 50001:2018 Energy Management System and other ISO standards, as well as community engagement and awareness initiatives.
“Sustainability is an integral part of how we operate and our commitment to energy efficiency is driven by the belief that responsible growth and a seamless passenger experience must go hand in hand. Our vision is to build an airport ecosystem that is efficient, resilient and sustainable, while delivering a comfortable and seamless experience for our passengers” said Kadhir Kadhiravan, CEO, GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited.
