Hyderabad CCTV captures moments before govt bus kills Rapido passenger
CCTV footage has captured the moments leading up to a fatal road accident in Telangana’s Hyderabad, where a 26-year-old woman was killed after a Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) bus collided with the Rapido bike she was travelling on.
The accident took place on Saturday near the rear gate of Big Bazaar in Srinagar Colony, Ameerpet. The woman, identified as Hemadurga, worked at a car company in Banjara Hills and was reportedly travelling to Ameerpet during a break from work to get her cellphone repaired.
The RTC bus collided with the Rapido bike, causing Hemadurga to fall onto the road and come under the bus wheels. She died at the spot.
The Rapido rider sustained serious injuries in the crash and was shifted to a hospital for treatment.
The CCTV footage appears to show the circumstances immediately preceding the accident. However, the exact role of speed, negligence or any traffic violation is yet to be established and will be determined as part of the police investigation.
Panjagutta police reached the spot after the accident, shifted Hemadurga’s body to the mortuary and initiated an investigation.
