IMD forecasts light showers, strong winds in Andhra Pradesh

The India Meteorological Department (IMD), Amaravati, forecasts isolated light showers with isolated strong winds and thunderstorms across the State until October 2. The IMD says strong winds, with speeds of 30–40 km/h and gusts up to 50 km/h, are likely at isolated places along the coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema. One or two places in coastal districts and in Rayalaseema may receive light showers during this period. This is due to an upper-air cyclonic circulation over the northwest and west-central Bay of Bengal. There is also a trough running from north interior Karnataka to Tamil Nadu, it said.
