Independence Day: Don’t give up on Nigeria, cleric tells Nigerians - Punch Newspapers
The Planter, Christ Apostolic Church Adamimogo, Grace of Mercy Prayer Mountain Worldwide, Prophet Sam Olu-Alo, has called for renewed commitment to building a better Nigeria, urging Nigerians not to give up on the country despite the challenges. The cleric made the call in his Independence Day message contained in a statement on Wednesday signed by his Personal Assistant, Deji Ogunbusuyi. Olu-Alo urged Nigerians to keep contributing to Nigeria’s development while holding leaders and institutions accountable for their responsibilities. According to him, the nation’s challenges should not diminish citizens’ hope for a better future. While felicitating with President Bola Tinubu, Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State, Southwest governors and all Nigerians on the occasion of the October 1 Independence Day celebration, Olu-Alo stressed the need for collective prayers for the nation. Olu-Alo stated, “Prayers from Nigerians would heal the land and help Nigerian leaders always do the will of God. God will continue to direct the path of our leaders in Jesus’ name. Amen.” The cleric urged Tinubu to always listen to the demands of Nigerians and make life better for the citizens. He recommended investments by governments in agriculture and security as a viable way to cushion the effect of noticeable hardship in the land. Olu-Alo also called on Oyebanji to continue to work with his predecessors and extend a hand of fellowship to the opposition who are willing to work with him to develop the state. Nigeria marks its Independence Day annually on October 1 to commemorate the country’s attainment of independence from British colonial rule in 1960.
