India expresses gratitude to Seychelles for swiftly rescuing 17 Indian fishermen
India on Thursday expressed gratitude to the government of Seychelles for its "swift and life-saving assistance" to 17 Indian fishermen aboard a fishing boat that suffered an engine failure in the high seas off the coast of the archipelago nation.
External affairs ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said on X that the timely assistance reflected the "close and enduring bonds of friendship" between the two countries.
In his post, he also shared some photos of the rescued fishing boat as well as the fishermen.
"Government of India expresses gratitude to the Government of Seychelles for its swift and life-saving assistance to 17 Indian fishermen aboard IFB Sajira, which suffered an engine failure in the high seas off the coast of Seychelles," the MEA spokesperson said.
"This timely assistance reflects the close and enduring bonds of friendship between India and Seychelles, and our shared commitment to the safety and well-being of our people," he wrote.- Ends
