The Dallas Cowboys had a difficult time containing New York Giants QB Jaxson Dart in their season opener last Sunday night. The second-year starter had a monstrous effort, easily dissecting the Cowboys' secondary to the tune of 230 passing yards and three scores. Perhaps more frustrating the capable runner added 55 ground yards on the day, with both scrambles and designed runs causing Christian Parker's unit some trouble.

So the expectation is that a more elite dual-threat QB such as Washington's Jayden Daniels should present even more of a challenge for Dallas' defense. That is, if he's healthy and able to fully execute all aspects of his arsenal. Daniels played in just seven games last season, dealing with a litany of ailments that helped derail Washington's chance to return to the playoffs after making the NFC Championship in the 2024 season.

After dealing with knee, hamstring and elbow injuries last season, is Daniels fully ready to go for Week 2?

Daniels escaped the team's Week 1 loss, 24-22, to Philadelphia apparently unscathed. It wasn't a full-blown Daniels game that fans saw in 2024, but it was a decent outing. He didn't fully answer the questions of whether or not he's back to form, as the Eagles held him to just a 52.9% completion percentage while throwing for just 164, and he only averaged 6 yards a carry (5 runs for 31 yards).

That's his sixth-lowest rushing total in 25 career starts. His total numbers only bested games where he didn't finish because of injury, but he took every snap in Week 1.

Fantasy owners should approach Daniels with precaution, even though the matchup against the Cowboys looks golden. If teams have viable backup QB options, it may be best to leave Daniels on the bench until he proves he's back to star status.
