The familiar tones of the Jack Armstrong and his trademark calls like “hello!” and “get that gah-bage outta here” will be heard once again in half of the coming Raptors regular season television broadcasts.

Armstrong announced himself that he’ll return to a 29th-season as part of the team’s TSN game broadcasts late Thursday night.

It took a rapidly approaching deadline to get a new deal in place for the 63-year-old Armstrong. TSN is scheduled to broadcast a Raptors-Heat pre-season game from here Saturday and Armstrong could be next to play-by-play veteran Matt Devlin.

The Raptors can now finalize their broadcast schedule for the coming season, with 41 on TSN and 41 on Sportsnet. Also to come will be the radio split for the games over the course of the season.

It’s expected Devlin and Armstrong will be joined by newcomer Raegan Subban in the courtside reporting role; Devlin, Alvin Williams and Danielle Michaud are expected to be announced as the Sportsnet broadcast team.
