The 21-year-old Alciso got the better of his fellow Filipino bet after collecting a total of 11.64 anchored on 6.67 in wave 1 and 4.97 in wave 2 to finish third in the competition.
Alciso gave the Philippines its 16th overall medal and 11th bronze. He also delivered the first surfing medal in the ongoing Asian Games.
