Karimnagar marathon spreads message of health, drug-free society

People from various walks of life, particularly students, took part enthusiastically in the “Karimnagar Half Marathon” on Sunday, spreading the message, “Run for health, say no to drugs”.

Organised by the Karimnagar Runners and Cyclists Association (KRCA), the fourth edition Karimnagar Marathon-2026 saw runners of different age groups participate in large numbers. Students from various educational institutions gathered at Dr B.R. Ambedkar Stadium before dawn.

Justice E.V. Venugopal of the Telangana High Court flagged off the marathon. Peddapalli Collector Koya Sree Harsha and others were present.

A pledge was administered to the participants to combat the menace of drug abuse and promote a drug-free society under the aegis of the Eagle Force, Telangana Police’s drug law-enforcement initiative.
