The Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB) has increased the SSLC examination fee for the March/April 2027 examinations by 5%.
With this hike, candidates appearing for the SSLC examinations have to pay a fee of ₹746 this year, compared to ₹710 last year.
The board has issued a circular in this regard, justifying the hike by citing a 2020 government order that proposed an annual fee revision.
The board has also directed schools to collect the revised fee from students registering for examinations under all categories. “The 5% hike is for all category students including repeaters, freshers and private candidates,” reads the circular.
According to the circular, the fee for private freshers has increased to ₹260 from ₹248. The fee for regular and private repeater candidates has increased from ₹448 to ₹470 for one subject, from ₹559 to ₹587 for two subjects, and from ₹752 to ₹790 for three or more subjects.
The registration renewal fee for candidates who have already registered as private candidates and paid the examination fee has been increased from ₹72 to ₹76.
