SAPS has appealed for information after 11 people were killed and three injured in a shooting at a house in KwaMakhutha, south of Durban.
Police have appealed to the community for information that could help identify and apprehend suspects wanted in connection with the KwaMakhutha shooting that left 11 people dead and three injured.
The shooting happened at a house in the Ziko area of KwaMakhutha, south of Durban, shortly before 11pm on Tuesday, September 22, 2026.
According to police, 13 men and one woman, believed to be pregnant, were gathered at the house when three men reportedly arrived and opened fire.
Ten victims, including the woman, died at the scene, while four others were taken to hospital. One of those injured later died, bringing the death toll to 11.
SAPS said preliminary investigations had revealed that some of the victims were on the Crime Intelligence radar in connection with illegal activities. Police said they could not disclose further details at this stage as investigations are ongoing.
The motive for the shooting has not yet been established, although police said a feud between rival groupings could not be ruled out.

Acting National Commissioner of SAPS, Lieutenant General Puleng Puleng Dimpane, has directed the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner to activate a 72-hour tracking operation to find those responsible.
Dimpane said investigators were following a promising lead that could assist in making a breakthrough in the case.
Police are urging anyone with reliable information about the suspects or the shooting to contact the investigating team or Crime Stop on 08600 10111. Anonymous tip-offs can also be submitted through the MySAPS app.
KwaZulu-Natal Premier Thamsanqa Ntuli visited KwaMakhutha on Wednesday to assess the situation, where he met with law enforcement officials, community representatives and affected families.
The KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Government has expressed its condolences to the families of those killed in the shooting.
