Kyiv: Russia hit civilian sites
Russia has been escalating its attacks on Ukraine. Ukrainian officials say Russian forces hit multiple civilian sites across the country on Thursday, including a maternity hospital in Kyiv, and eight people have been killed.
The State Emergency Service said two people were killed in the capital, a woman heading to a shelter, and a man waiting out the attack in an underground passage.
The officials said six agricultural workers were killed in the eastern Kharkiv region.
The Ukrainian military said Russia used ballistic missiles and drones in the attacks.
Moscow claims the strikes were targeting military-related sites.
Ukrainian forces are running low on interceptor missiles, and President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on social media that Ukraine urgently needs more of them to "protect lives."
