Lebak town in Sultan Kudarat suspends classes due to imminent threat to school safety - GMA Network

The municipality of Lebak in Sultan Kudarat on Monday, September 21, 2026, suspended classes "due to an imminent threat to school safety and public security."

Lebak Mayor Frederick Celestial issued Executive Order No. 170 on Monday ordering the "suspension of classes and all activities, including practices that require in-person attendance on school premises at all levels, both public and private schools within the Municipality of Lebak, Sultan Kudarat due to an imminent threat to school safety and public security."

The suspension of classes and activities is effective September 21 "until further notice."

On Monday night, however, the municipality lifted the class suspension after the necessary safety measures and precautions were put in place.

"MAY PASOK NA PO! Following the careful assessment conducted during the inter-agency emergency meeting of the Bantay-Paaralan Task Force held earlier today, necessary safety measures and precautions will be implemented to ensure the safety of all concerned. In view thereof, the suspension of classes is hereby lifted. Nonetheless, let us continue to stay safe, remain vigilant, and exercise caution at all times," the announcement read on their Facebook page. —KG, GMA News
