Tottenham took the initiative early on and created a chance through Lucas Bergvall, but his shot went straight into the arms of Liverpool goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili.

Liverpool responded with a threat from Lewis Koumas, but his effort was thwarted by a save from Martin Dubravka.

The Reds took the lead through Alexis Mac Allister, who pounced on a rebound inside the Tottenham penalty area to make it 1-0 in the 21st minute.

Tottenham pushed for an equalizer for the remainder of the first half, but the 1-0 lead for Liverpool held firm until the break.

In the second half, Liverpool doubled their lead to 2-0 in the 54th minute when Cody Gakpo scored after receiving a pass from Alexis Mac Allister.

Liverpool had a chance to extend their lead further through Dominik Szoboszlai, but his shot was saved by Dubravka.

Towards the end of the match, Liverpool added another goal to seal a 3-1 victory, courtesy of a volley from Szoboszlai in the 90+1 minute.
