Lord Allan Velasco out of the country —BI - GMA Network

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) on Tuesday confirmed that former House Speaker Lord Allan Velasco is currently out of the Philippines, saying there is no derogatory record preventing his departure from the country.

It also said that there is no existing hold departure order against Velasco.

However, the bureau said it cannot disclose further details.

GMA News Online has reached out to Velasco's camp about his trip, but they have yet to reply as of posting time.

Last week, former policeman Rodulfo Gracioso Jr. claimed to have delivered cash to Vice President Sara Duterte, former President Rodrigo Duterte, and Davao City 1st District Representative Paolo Duterte on Velasco’s instruction.

The National Bureau of Investigation is now looking into his allegations.

Velasco’s camp said that the allegations have “no basis” and are “fabricated attacks” against him.

"The former Speaker of the House's record of service in the government is untainted with corruption and his wife's benevolence is widely known, leaving no basis for the illegal allegations now being suggested," said Velasco's spokesperson, Atty. Rowell Ilagan in a statement.

Vice President Sara Duterte has also said that she does not know Gracioso.

"Mga kababayan, I do not know Rodulfo Gracioso Jr., nor have I ever received any money from him," Duterte said in a statement.

GMA News has also sought comments through phone calls and messages to Pulong Duterte and Rodrigo Duterte since last week, but they have yet to give any. —VAL, GMA News
