LPA to soak Visayas, parts of Luzon, Mindanao with rain - GMA Network
A low pressure area (LPA) will trigger rain in Visayas and different parts of Luzon and Mindanao, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Thursday.
In its 4:00 pm weather bulletin, the state weather bureau said an LPA will trigger overcast skies and scattered rains across Visayas, MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, Zamboanga Peninsula, BARMM, Northern Mindanao, Batangas and Quezon.
The aforementioned areas are warned of possible flash floods or landslides during times of moderate to heavy rains.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila and other parts of the country will experience partly cloudy skies and isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.
According to a separate Facebook post from PAGASA, the LPA is inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR). As of 2:00 p.m., the LPA is 160 kilometers east of Puerto Princesa City in Palawan.
It is unlikely to develop into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours, PAGASA said.
Meanwhile, PAGASA is monitoring Severe Tropical Storm Dujuan outside the PAR. Dujuan is currently 2,920 kilometers east of Northern Luzon. It is packing maximum sustained winds of 95 km/h, and gustiness of 115 km/h. It is moving northward at 50 km/h. βJean Mangaluz/RF, GMA News
