So far, APAAR ID creation has been completed for 1 crore 14 lakh 21 thousand students, accounting for 78.5% of the total, according to official information.

Confirming the rollout through its official X handle, the Madhya Pradesh School Education Department said school students in the state will have a unique ID similar to Aadhaar. The special campaign will focus on completing the APAAR ID generation process for students who are yet to be registered. Schools and the education system will play a key role in facilitating the process.

The initiative aims to keep students' educational and other related information safe in digital form. According to the department, every student in Madhya Pradesh will have their own unique APAAR ID, while their academic records will be kept digitally secure.

The department said the 12-digit ID will contain all information related to a student, creating a single digital identity for students across their academic journey.WHAT IS APAAR ID?

APAAR is a unique lifelong student identification number developed under the Centre's "One Nation, One Student ID" initiative. It is designed to create a single digital academic identity for every learner from pre-primary education to higher education.

The ID is linked with a student's Aadhaar after obtaining parental consent and is integrated with DigiLocker and the Academic Bank of Credits (ABC).
