Madlanga Commission considering application to hold parts of Feroz Khan's hearing in-camera

The Madlanga Commission of Inquiry is considering an application by its evidence leaders to hold parts of dismissed police officer Feroz Khan's hearing in camera.

Khan was scheduled to testify on Monday, but he's unlikely to appear in light of the latest developments.

The application was filed this week with evidence leaders raising concerns about ongoing investigations.

In July, they led parts of Khan's evidence, including messages in private over two days.

They said that Khan's response through his legal team should also be held in private.

The commission has so far heard allegations that Khan has defeated the ends of justice.

Evidence leader Matthew Chaskalson said, "And that is a pattern where friends of General Khan will send him case numbers and ask him for some assistance in relation to those case numbers. So we see that across a number of chats."
