Mariska Hargitay, daughter channel Jessica Rabbit in matching red looks - USA Today
Mariska Hargitay's red carpet look is red-hot, literally.
The "Law & Order: SVU" star was all-smiles as she posed for photographs on the Emmy's red carpet in a fire-hydrant-red gown. Hargitay appeared to channel cartoon character Jessica Rabbit with her look, complete with sequins and red heels.
Hargitay's daughter Amaya, 15, wore a similar look. Hargitay and Amaya were joined on the carpet by Hargitay's husband Peter Hermann and sons Miklos and Andrew, who all donned classic tuxedos with matching black bow ties.
One of many stars seen rocking red ahead of the 78th Emmy Awards, Hargitay was in good company, as peers Cynthia Nixon and Niecy Nash-Betts were also spotted wearing similar color frocks.
"Beef" star Cailee Spaeny, Taylor Dearden, Jackie Tohn, Krys Marshall and Fiona Dourif were among the stars seen dabbling in red.
Days ahead of the star-studded ceremony, Hargitay experienced a wardrobe malfunction while helping roll out the blue carpet that she dubbed a "good omen."
Hargitay stopped the proceedings and called out loudly, "Hold up, wardrobe malfunction! Better now than at the Emmys."
Speaking to USA TODAY in sunglasses and a sequined LaQuan Smith skirt suit, the diehard New York Knicks fan said the incident was caused by her heroic carpet domination.
"I started going into full-on Knicks-mode, kicking the carpet. I was a superhero," Hargitay said.
"Damn straight it is," Hargitay said.
More on the good luck front: Hargitay already won two Emmys on Sept. 6 for her deeply personal HBO documentary, “My Mom Jayne: A Film by Mariska Hargitay,” about her late mother, Hollywood star Jayne Mansfield.
