Minor girl allegedly assaulted in Khanewal

Police have registered a case against a man accused of allegedly sexually assaulting a 13-year-old ninth-grade student at gunpoint in Kabirwala. The accused, identified as Arif Abbas, son of Muhammad Yousuf, is employed as a naib qasid at the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Kabirwala. According to sources, the accused's daughter and the complainant studied at the same school and often travelled to and from school together. On the day of the incident, the accused was allegedly waiting outside the school on a motorcycle after classes ended. The girl alleged that he offered to drop her home on his motorcycle, but allegedly took her to his house on the way, saying he had a brief task to complete. According to the complaint, no one else was present at the house and the accused allegedly assaulted her at gunpoint. Residents reportedly reached the spot after hearing the girl's cries, while the alleged assailant fled. Police reached the scene after receiving a call on emergency helpline 15 and subsequently registered a case. The girl's family said her mother was disabled and her father was elderly. They appealed to senior authorities to ensure a transparent investigation, arrest the accused and take legal action in accordance with the law.
