Move over DJs, giant dancing 'gorillas' are taking over parties in Pakistan

Party-goers in Pakistan's Lahore appeared to have a rather wild addition to their celebrations, with entertainers in giant gorilla costumes turning up on dance floors and joining guests as they danced to the music.

According to a report by Gulf News, people in oversized gorilla costumes have been spotted at parties in Pakistan, where their towering presence and exaggerated dance moves have quickly become an unexpected part of the celebrations.

A video from the parties, shared by AFP, showed the costumed performers throwing their massive arms around and dancing to DJ beats while guests moved around them. With the performers almost completely hidden inside the bulky costumes, their energetic movements made them hard to ignore.

The gorillas appeared to become something of a centrepiece at the celebrations, with party-goers dancing alongside them and seemingly enjoying the absurdity of having giant apes suddenly join the festivities.

Videos of the unusual performances have been circulating online, bringing attention to the quirky trend and prompting plenty of amusement on social media.

What would normally be an ordinary night of music and dancing has therefore gained a distinctly bizarre twist, with guests now apparently having to share the dance floor with some very large, very energetic gorillas.- Ends
