A fire was reported on the overhead electric railway tracks near Tao Poon station inย Bangkok's Bang Sue district about 12.20pm on Pracharat Sai 2 Road, in front of the Chewathai condominium building in Bang Sue district.
Bang O Fire and Rescue units were deployed to the scene about 12.32pm. They found an electrical short circuit involving cables on the railway track. Flames were still visible as they worked to bring the situation under control.
Further details, including whether the incident affected train services, were not immediately available.
"At present, MRT services have been temporarily suspended at all stations due to a fire along the railway line between Tao Poon and Bang O stations.
Staff and relevant agencies are currently rushing to inspect and deal with the situation, with the safety of passengers and staff being given the highest priority.
We fully understand that this incident is affecting the travel plans of many passengers, and BEM is taking every possible measure to resume services as quickly and safely as possible.

Pol Lt Col Kittiphan Thaentangcharoenchai, deputy investigation chief at Tao Poon, said the stationโs radio centre received a report about 12.30pm of a fire involving the BL-PW18L electrical connection on the Blue Line track at Tao Poon station in Bang Sue district.Firefighters sent to the scene reported finding smoke and flames on the railway track and soon had it under control.
Electricity to the track was cut off and MRT services suspended.
No injuries were reported. However, sparks falling from the track caused minor damage to a motorcycle parked below.
A preliminary investigation found that the fire was caused by an electrical control cabinet overheating, resulting in a short circuit and subsequent fire.
At 1.50pm, Tao Poon police, officials from Bangkok Expressway and Metro Plc (BEM), which operates the expressway and MRT Blue Line, and BEM firefighters jointly inspected the power cut-off system on the third rail.
Officials walked along the track to assess the damage and determine the exact cause of the incident, with the aim of preventing a recurrence.
