The owner of the car that knocked down a woman biker on Gurugram's Golf Course Road has claimed he was out of town at the time and that his school friend had taken the vehicle. He said he later learnt that a third person, whom he barely knows, had taken the car from his friend and that neither the man nor the vehicle is currently in contact with him.

Speaking to India Today TV, the car owner said he is serving in the Army and was not in the city when the incident took place.

"I am not in town and am serving with the Indian Army. My school friend took my vehicle for two days," he said.

The owner said he later came across the video of the incident on social media. According to him, his friend subsequently told him that another person, whom the owner barely knows, had taken the car away.

"I have spoken to my friend. He has told me he does not know where that person is," the owner said.

He added that the person who allegedly took the vehicle, along with the car, is currently not in contact with them.

"The other person along with the vehicle is not in our contact," he added.

The owner also said that Gurugram Police had not contacted him so far.

The incident occurred on Golf Course Road when a speeding white sedan rammed into a woman biker, identified as Sia, in a suspected hit-and-run. The collision was captured on an action camera mounted on her bike and the footage later went viral on social media.

Sia said she was riding with a group of bikers when the sedan followed her aggressively. She claimed that she had asked the driver to maintain a safe distance, but the situation escalated before the car swerved into her bike.

The impact threw her onto the road and caused injuries. She was subsequently taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Another video, recorded by a fellow rider, showed bikers chasing the sedan and briefly confronting its occupant at a traffic signal before the car allegedly drove away.

Gurugram Police have launched an investigation into the incident after the videos surfaced online.- EndsPublished By: Devika BhattacharyaPublished On: Sep 14, 2026 12:02 IST
