The Adambakkam police arrested a 58-year-old journalist, Damodharan Prakash, of Nakkeeran, on charges of posting a defamatory video on social media against a 38-year-old YouTuber, on Wednesday (September 16, 2026).Β
In a press release, the police said that Prakash had posted a derogatory and defamatory video against a woman working for a YouTube channel, who is a resident of Adambakkam, in January this year. Based on the complaint filed by the woman, the Adambakkam police filed a case invoking sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) Act, the Information Technology (IT) Act, and the Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Women (TNPHW) Act.
