NELFUND disburses N8.2b to 35,710 Kogi students - The Guardian Nigeria News

The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has disbursed N8.205 billion to students in eight tertiary institutions across Kogi State, with 35,710 institutional-fee applications and 34,154 upkeep applications recorded under the intervention.

Data obtained by The Guardian revealed that the figure comprises N4.124 billion disbursed for institutional fees and another N4.082 billion for students’ upkeep.

Breakdown of the amount indicated that the Federal University, Lokoja, received the largest share, with N3.577 billion disbursed to beneficiaries. The institution recorded 15,408 institutional-fee applications, attracting N1.767 billion, while 14,655 upkeep applications received N1.810 billion.

Prince Abubakar Audu University followed with N1.956 billion, comprising N904.207 million for institutional fees and N1.052 billion for upkeep. It recorded 8,992 institutional-fee applications and 8,614 upkeep applications.

Kogi State University, Kabba, got N1.229 billion, including N654.877 million for institutional fees and N573.760 million for upkeep, while Confluence University of Science and Technology received N805.238 million.

Federal Polytechnic, Idah, received N609.655 million, while Federal College of Education, Okene, got N8.867 million. Kogi State College of Education, Ankpa, and Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, received N10.354 million and N9.378 million, respectively.
