In the wake of social media narratives suggesting a restriction on the number of vehicles to be allowed to Tirumala hills for the ensuing Srivari Salakatla Brahmotsavams starting September 16, the district administration has made it clear that there are no such curbs.

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), as well as the district police administration, has condemned the post making rounds on social media platforms that only 15,000 vehicles a day will be permitted atop the hills during the nine-day festival and others will be stopped at the foothills.

Superintendent of Police L. Subbarayudu has said that a case will be filed at the Tirumala Two Town police station on the β€œfalse campaign,” and has appealed to the pilgrims not to give credence to such mala fide information. He urges the public to consider only the information made available on the TTD’s website.

Meanwhile, the entire city of Tirupati has been tastefully decorated with serial lighting and impressive dioramas of various mythological episodes from the Hindu epics and scriptures.

Two huge images of caparisoned elephants have been installed at the Garuda Circle in Alipiri, the foot of Tirumala hills, as a form of extending welcome to the devotees.
