Noche UFC video: Yousri Belgaroui warns middleweights after dominant TKO
Yousri Belgaroui changed his nickname to "The Boogeyman" prior to UFC Fight Night 288, and he very much looked like a fearsome force on Saturday.
Belgaroui (11-3 MMA, 3-0 UFC) delivered a one-sided striking beatdown of Santos (11-4 MMA, 1-3 UFC) in the middleweight prelim at Noche UFC from Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Ariz., eventually dropping his opponent and forcing the referee to jump in for the TKO stoppage at the 4:25 mark of Round 1.
With UFC legend Glover Teixeira and former two-division UFC champion Alex Pereira in his corner, Belgaroui is building in confidence and sent a clear message to everyone at 185 pounds afterward.
"You line them up and I knock them out, that's what 'The Boogeyman' stands for,'" Belgaroui told Daniel Cormier in his post-fight interview. "Now I want to solve a top 15 guy. Let's get it. Don't be scared when we call you. Pick up your phone, don't hide because I'm coming to f*cking knock you out motherf*cker.'"
