As part of 150 years celebrations of Ongole Municipal Corporation, a mega waste segregation drive will be conducted across the city for one hour on Saturday morning. The drive is expected to enter the Book of World Records by involving all households in the city.

District Collector P. Raja Babu announced that this programme is being organised to showcase the historically significant city to the world as an iconic city. He inspired the employees by saying, “The responsibility of bringing this special recognition to the city where you work lies with you.”

He further instructed secretariat employees to create awareness and ensure that every family participates in this mega segregation drive. He said that a lucky draw would be conducted based on the details of participants from each sanitary division, and gold coins would be given to the winners.
