Osmania University has directed all its affiliated autonomous colleges to strengthen examination and result-processing systems amid concerns over discrepancies in internal and external marks and variations in evaluation and revaluation results.
At a strategic meeting with principals of autonomous colleges held at the PGRRCDE auditorium on Wednesday, Vice-Chancellor Kumar Molugaram stressed that academic autonomy must be accompanied by greater transparency, accountability and ethical responsibility.
He directed colleges to upload students’ marks through secure cloud-based systems to prevent manipulation and ensure the integrity of examination records. He also called for immediate scrutiny and resolution of discrepancies between internal and external marks.
Controller of Examinations B. Sudhakar Reddy presented an analysis of examination data that highlighted issues in result processing in some autonomous colleges. The university stressed the need for systematic checks at every stage to ensure accuracy and reliability of results.
Mr. Kumar also called for stronger quality control in evaluation and revaluation and directed colleges to improve question papers by testing understanding, application and analytical skills rather than rote learning.
The meeting also reviewed implementation of UGC Regulations, 2023, faculty ratification, course outcomes-programme outcomes mapping, outcome-based education and academic audits.
