Pakistan summons Indian envoy over killing of two Pakistanis along international border

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Indian Chargé d’Affaires on Saturday as Islamabad sought to lodge a strong protest over the killing of two Pakistani civilians by personnel of the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) in the Bedian Sector along the International Border on Friday. According to a statement issued by the MoFA, "the BSF personnel resorted to unprovoked lethal force against unarmed civilians. Such use of force was wholly unjustified and grossly disproportionate, resulting in the tragic loss of two precious lives." It added, "Pakistan categorically rejects any attempt to mischaracterise the deceased as 'infiltrators.'" 🔊PR No.2️⃣7️⃣2️⃣/2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣6️⃣ Indian Chargé d’Affaires Summoned Over Killing of Two Pakistani Civilians 🔗⬇️ pic.twitter.com/7o9A1UvrLF — Ministry of Foreign Affairs - Pakistan (@ForeignOfficePk) October 3, 2026 The Foreign Office also noted that "the incident constituted a serious violation of fundamental human rights, including the right to life, and raised serious concerns regarding the protection of civilian life under international law."
