The Pampa police have recovered more than 70 mobile phones lost by Sabarimala pilgrims during a special drive conducted in September.
The police identified the phones that had been registered and blocked through the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal. The users of the devices, traced to eight States, were contacted over the phone or served notices, following which the phones were brought to the Pampa police station from different States.
The recovered phones are being sent to their respective owners by parcel, police said. The total value of the phones recovered so far is estimated at more than ₹10 lakh.
