Police hunt suspects after four men killed in Site C shooting - IOL
Police are investigating a fatal shooting in Mthuma Street, Site C, Khayelitsha.
A suspect was shot dead in the Free State during a shootout with police.
Four men have been shot dead in Site C, Khayelitsha, in an attack that has left police searching for the killers and trying to establish a motive.
Three of the men were found with multiple gunshot wounds in Mthuma Street after Khayelitsha police responded to the shooting at about 7.15pm on Saturday.
Two were found inside a stationary vehicle and the third was lying next to it. All three were declared dead at the scene.
The fourth man, who had also been shot, was rushed to a medical facility in a private vehicle but died on arrival.
Western Cape police spokesperson Colonel AndrΓ© Traut said information gathered at the scene indicated that the victims had been inside the vehicle when they were shot.
Police have not established what led to the attack and no arrests have been made.
Provincial Serious and Violent Crime detectives have taken over the investigation and are working to identify those responsible.
The quadruple murder comes as police investigate another deadly shooting in Lwandle in which 10 people were killed and 11 wounded in the early hours of Sunday.
Police have not indicated that the two attacks are linked.
