Prabowo Arrives Back in Indonesia After Russia Trip - Tempo.co English
TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto arrived at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base, Jakarta, early Friday morning, after his trip to Vladivostok, Russia.
The plane carrying President Prabowo and his entourage landed at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base at around 3:00 a.m. Jakarta time, as broadcast on the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube channel.
Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Indonesian National Armed Forces Commander General Agus Subiyanto, and National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo welcomed the President upon his arrival.
Prabowo had previously accepted an invitation from Russian President Vladimir Putin to attend the 11th Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) at the Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) in Vladivostok as the principal guest of honor.
During his stay in Vladivostok, President Prabowo held several meetings, including a bilateral meeting with President Vladimir Putin.
During the meeting, Putin hailed Indonesia as one of Russia's key partners in the Asia-Pacific region.
President Prabowo also delivered a speech at the forum in Vladistovok, which gathered government officials, businesspeople, and economic stakeholders from Russia and various countries.
In his speech, Prabowo spoke about the importance of fostering connectivity across the Pacific region, including cooperation opportunities with Russia and the Eurasian region.
"The Pacific does not separate us. The Pacific connects us. The Pacific is not a wall between us. The Pacific is a highway for both of our economies," the President said.
The visit was part of the effort to strengthen relations between Indonesia and Russia, particularly in the fields of economics, trade, investment, and connectivity.
Accompanying Prabowo on the return flight from Valdistovok were Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia, Minister of Investment and Downstream Rosan Roeslani, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
