The procession of 11 white silk decorated umbrellas, meant for the annual Brahmotsavam of the Tirupati Venkatachalapathi Temple at Tirumala, started from the Chenna Kesava Perumal Temple in Flower Bazaar on Sunday.

The umbrella procession was flagged off by Sri Raghuvarendra Swami of Sri Bheemanna Ghatte Math and R. R. Gopaljee of the Hindu Dharmartha Samithi. After being accorded special pujas by devotees in various areas, the umbrellas will reach Tirumala on September 18 for the Garuda Sevai, said a press release.
