Protocol lapse: Parvatipuram RDO apologises to A.P. SC panel

Parvatipuram Revenue Divisional Officer K. Madhuri on Tuesday tendered an apology at a hearing conducted by the AP State Commission for Scheduled Castes K.S. Jawahar in Vijayawada for the alleged protocol violation during the official visit of the SC panel member Ravada Seetharam to Parvatipuram on September 9 and 10.

Ms. Madhuri assured the Commission that the district administration would take adequate care in implementation of statutory protocol during the visit of the Commission chairman and members who visit to inquire about the grievances of Scheduled Caste people.

Mr. Seetharam had complained that the district administration had not provided chairs or a mike for an interaction with the RDO and tahsildars during the meeting held to review status of pending petitions.

He said that his visit details were communicated to the District Revenue Officer K. Hemalatha and RDO K. Madhuri in advance but basic arrangements had not been made for the meeting.

Ms. Madhuri told the Commission that the lapse was not intentional and said that on those days all senior officers were occupied with other works.

Mr. Jawahar said that all officials should follow the rules and regulations while dealing with petitions related to the Dalit community and ensure due respect to the Commission.
