Raiders defense shutting out opponents in 4th quarter thus far - Raiders Wire

There are some impressive stats that have come from the Raiders' during their 3-0 start. But none are more astounding than this one -- they have given up exactly ZERO (0) points in the fourth quarter. Literally no points in the most important quarter of the game. Unreal.

As Josh Dubow of the AP points out, no team has shut out their opponents in the final period over the first three games the past three seasons.

Helping them to accomplish that has been takeaways. Seven of the team's league-leading nine takeaways have come in the fourth quarter, including four this past Sunday in New Orleans. Meanwhile, the Raiders offense scored two touchdowns to come from behind for the win.

Even still, the Raiders were never more than one score ahead. And the Saints had proven the first two weeks that no lead was safe. Making the Raiders the first team this season to keep them from scoring in the fourth.
