A video of actor Rajpal Yadav leaving late actor Mushtaq Khan’s prayer meet has gone viral on social media, with claims that he was asked to leave the gathering by the late actor’s family. However, the viral claim does not tell the complete story.

Mushtaq Khan died on September 24 at Mumbai’s Nanavati Hospital after battling cancer. A prayer meet was held for the late actor on September 30, attended by several members of the film industry, including Rajpal Yadav, Poonam Dhillon, Rahul Roy, Rakhi Sawant, Sulbha Arya and Shahbaz Khan.

A video from the gathering shows Rajpal leaving the venue after paying his respects to Mushtaq and meeting his family. As he stepped out, paparazzi and fans surrounded him and began asking for photographs and selfies.

The situation reportedly did not go down well with people at the prayer meet, given the solemn nature of the gathering.

A claim accompanying the viral video suggests that a woman from Mushtaq Khan’s family stopped people from taking selfies and asked Rajpal to leave the venue. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Vijendra Sharma (@vijendrasharma9919)

However, there is no evidence in the video to establish that Rajpal was thrown out of the prayer meet or humiliated by Mushtaq’s family.

What the footage appears to show is an objection to people taking photographs and selfies at the venue. Rajpal, who had already paid his respects to the late actor, appeared to understand the situation and chose to leave.

Therefore, the claim that Rajpal Yadav was “thrown out” of Mushtaq Khan’s prayer meet is misleading.

The viral footage does not show the actor being forcibly removed from the gathering. Instead, it captures a moment when the presence of paparazzi and fans seeking selfies was objected to during an otherwise sombre occasion. What happened at Mushtaq Khan’s prayer meet?

Several actors and members of the film fraternity attended the prayer meet to pay their respects to Mushtaq Khan, who passed away on September 24.

Rajpal Yadav was among those who visited the family. After offering his condolences, he was approached by photographers and fans outside the venue.

The gathering was meant to be a private and emotional farewell, and the demand for selfies and photographs appeared out of place in that setting. Rajpal eventually left the venue rather than prolong the situation. View this post on Instagram A post shared by P@L@$h (@officialbollywoodviral)

The incident has since been shared online with a misleading narrative, giving the impression that the actor was publicly insulted or expelled by the family.

Based on the available footage, however, there is no basis to claim that Rajpal Yadav was thrown out of the prayer meet.

The viral video is therefore a case where the context surrounding a clip matters as much as the footage itself.- Ends
