Rakul Preet, Vashu Bhagnani, Panorama Studios under Income Tax lens over film funds
The Income Tax Department has launched search operations at 12 locations in Mumbai linked to actor Rakul Preet Singh, her father-in-law, producer Vashu Bhagnani, and Panorama Studios on September 28, 2026.
The search operations, being conducted by the Mumbai Income Tax Department, are reportedly linked to suspected financial irregularities involving money allegedly sent outside India in connection with film projects.Searches underway in Mumbai
Sources said that the Income Tax Department is carrying out searches at multiple premises connected to the film personalities and companies. The exact nature of the alleged transactions and the amount involved have not been disclosed so far.
Rakul Preet Singh is married to producer Jackky Bhagnani, son of Vashu Bhagnani. The Bhagnani family has been associated with Pooja Entertainment, while Panorama Studios is another prominent production and distribution company in the Hindi film industry.
Meanwhile, Panorama Studios is owned by Kumar Mangat. Their upcoming film, Drishyam: The Conclusion, is set to hit cinemas on October 2.
The Income Tax Department has not yet publicly detailed the findings of the searches or confirmed whether any tax violations have been established.
