Rams sign safety to 53-man roster, add DT to practice squad

The Los Angeles Rams placed Myles Garrett on injured reserve Thursday, which officially sidelines him for at least four games. They didn’t make a corresponding move to fill his roster spot initially, though.

On Friday, they filled the vacancy on the 53-man roster by signing safety Tanner Ingle from the practice squad, adding him to the active roster. To take Ingle’s place on the practice squad, the Rams signed defensive lineman Jaxson Moi, an undrafted rookie who they waived during final roster cuts.

Ingle has been with the team since 2023, mostly on the practice squad. He’s a hard-hitting safety who can also contribute on special teams, which is likely where the Rams see most of his value.

He was elevated to the game-day roster last week against the 49ers but that was only a temporary promotion. Now, he’s on the 53-man roster – at least until he gets waived.

Moi is a 6-foot-2 defensive tackle out of Tennessee after a two-year stint at Stanford.
