Rams tie 26-year record for most penalties in final 2 minutes vs. Broncos - Rams Wire

The Los Angeles Rams were on the losing side of a last-minute shootout against the Denver Broncos. After leading 16-0 at halftime, the Rams surrendered 16 points in the third quarter before being outscored 14-10 in the fourth.

The game's result was decided by Denver's final offensive drive, where they scored the game-winning touchdown on a Bo Nix sneak. The Broncos ran 10 plays on that drive, in part because Los Angeles kept getting called for penalties. The most consequential was a controversial defensive pass interference penalty on Josh Wallace, negating what would likely have been the game-sealing interception.

Then, offensive tackle Alaric Jackson was called for a false start on what was supposed to be the final play from scrimmage.

According to ESPN's Sarah Barshop, the Rams' five penalties in the final two minutes are tied for the most by any team since 2000.

The Rams will have a lot to clean up this week as they're set to take on the Philadelphia Eagles in another road contest. On top of the loss, Los Angeles may be without cornerback Jaylen Watson, whom Wallace helped replace.
