Red alert in five Telangana districts on September 24

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for five Telangana districts for Thursday (September 24, 2026). Eight districts were placed under orange alert.

According to IMDs latest bulletin, a red alert, indicating very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall was issued for isolated places in Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mulugu and Bhadradri Kothagudem districts.

An orange alert, indicating heavy to very heavy rainfall was issued for isolated places in Adilabad, Jagtial, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Khammam, Mahabubabad, Warangal and Hanumakonda districts.

Additionally, a yellow alert, indicating heavy rainfall, was issued for Nirmal, Nizamabad, Rajanna Sircilla, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Jangaon, Siddipet, Yadadri Bhuvangiri, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy and Jogulamba Gadwal districts.

Hyderabad city and its surrounding areas for the next 24 hours will see a generally cloudy sky. “Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied with gusty winds are very likely to occur in the city. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 30℃ and 22℃ respectively,” the bulletin said.
