Two of the four men accused of killing two police officers and two women in Reiger Park in August have been denied bail by the Boksburg Magistrate's Court.

Reagan Cheslin Collis, 23, and Jamal Meyer, 24, were denied bail.

Elvino Levert Crafford, 27, and Mcfoolen Ford, 26, were granted bail of 5,000 rand each.

Collis and his three co-accused face four counts of murder, two counts of robbery with aggravating circumstances and charges under the Firearms Control Act.

The charges stem from an August 7 shooting in Reiger Park that claimed the lives of Gauteng Anti-Gang Unit officers Constables Thapelo Tlomatsana, 29, and Sphiwe Sibeko, 28, as well as civilians Roleen Lessing and Jaydin Margerman.

ll four accused have claimed that police forced them to confess to the alleged killings.

They told the court they could afford bail of 2,000 rand each.

Delivering the judgment, the magistrate said Collis and Meyer had failed to provide sufficient reasons why they should be released on bail.

The case has been postponed to December 1.Β
