Robbers flee with 10 tola gold, Rs15m cash

Armed robbers looted 10 tolas of gold, Rs15 million in cash and foreign currency from two portions of a bungalow in the KDA Employees Cooperative Housing Society in Scheme 33, and also assaulted a woman during the robbery. According to police, a gang of four bandits, riding a white car and armed with sophisticated weapons, targeted the bungalow in the Sachal police station area at around 11:30am. The owner lives on the upper floor while a tenant occupies the lower portion. The robbers looted both portions and subjected a woman to violence when she offered resistance. The bungalow belonged to Hamza, a manager working at a towel factory. Police reached the scene and called the crime scene unit to collect evidence. Police have launched an investigation and are trying to trace the suspects. Meanwhile, thieves allegedly broke the locks of a jeweller's house in Bantwa Town, Azizabad, during the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday and stole silver worth more than Rs80 million. The family had gone to attend a function. They discovered the burglary after returning home. Police collected evidence from the scene, while some business dealings of the affected jeweller have also emerged during the initial inquiry.
