Rockbridge, Conservative Group Founded by U.S. Vice President, Began Setting Up in Brazil - Folha de S.Paulo
Rockbridge Network, a U.S. conservative group founded by Vice President J.D. Vance, reached out to Brazilian businesspeople and politicians about a possible expansion into Brazil. The interest gained prominence after presidential candidate Renan Santos (Missão) suggested that the Americans would support Flávio Bolsonaro’s campaign, an allegation denied by those involved but which prompted a request for an investigation by Brazil’s Supreme Court.
According to Folha, representatives of the group have already been in contact with businessman Joesley Batista, of J&F, and banker André Esteves, of BTG — neither commented. Presidential candidates Flávio Bolsonaro and Romeu Zema also met members of the network but declined to comment.
Documents obtained by Folha show that Rockbridge offered membership in two categories, with annual contributions of $500,000 or $1 million, payable to Rockbridge Brazil LLC. The material described the Brazilian initiative as a "political venture capital fund" operating in media, youth training and legislative activity. Another document proposed a "Technology Council" with a potential economic impact of more than $100 billion over 10 years, with 23 members, four of them Brazilians: Talles Gomes, Mario Araripe, David Peixoto and Pedro Sang.
Contacted by Folha, Araripe did not comment; Pax AI denied that Peixoto had received an invitation or authorized the use of his name. Sang confirmed that he had been introduced to the group but said the initiative has been suspended since May. Gomes said the council "was just a proposal that remained on paper: it was never established or held a meeting."
Rockbridge in the U.S. said the Brazilian company was created, but that the project was rejected and "never received funding, began operations or was used for any business activity," denying any political intent.
