Actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu recently shared a glimpse of her baby shower ceremony at Isha Foundation, offering an intimate look at the spiritual rituals she underwent as a mother-to-be. The actor described the ceremony as deeply meaningful, explaining how it celebrated motherhood and sought blessings for her and her baby. She was joined by husband-filmmaker Raj Nidimoru.

In a series of posts on Instagram, The Family Man actor explained the Kalaa Aavarana ritual from the Sri Vidya, which honours the 94 kalas of Devi through the seven chakras of the mother-to-be. She shared that the ceremony involved sacred water, mantras and rituals intended to cleanse and energise these centres.

In another post, the 39-year-old actor explained that what moved her was the way the ritual viewed the mother. “She is honoured as Devi herself, as the sacred creator through whom another life is taking form. It is a blessing for the child growing within her and also for the woman who is being born into a new version of herself,” she wrote in the slide. Another picture showed petals being showered on Samantha. She shared that following the abhishekam, the mother-to-be is seated at the sacred centre of the Sri Chakra Yantram. The yantra consists of nine aavaranas, representing different stages of the spiritual journey, with the bindu at its centre symbolising the source of creation and the presence of Lalita Tripurasundari.

Another slide featured the Maa Inti Bangaaram actor seated with her eyes closed as women around her chant mantras. “During the recitation of the Devi Khadgamaala, the names of the deities and divine energies associated with the nine enclosures are chanted. Samantha explained that the recitation moves symbolically from the outer layers towards the centre, guiding the mind inward while invoking protection and blessings,” she wrote.

She also highlighted the belief that the chanting creates a protective field around the mother and child, giving the baby a sacred samskaara — a spiritual imprint formed through mantra — even before birth.

Reflecting on the experience, Samantha wrote that understanding the meaning behind each ritual made the ceremony particularly powerful for her.

“There was something incredibly powerful about sitting there, experiencing all of this while understanding what was being invoked for me and for the baby,” she wrote.

In another slide, Raj Nidimoru stood beside her along with Sheetal Reddy.

In the last slide, she thanked all those people who performed the ritual and blessed her baby.

Samantha and Raj were rumoured to have been dating when they shot for Citadel: Honey Bunny, which was released in 2024. While her divorce from Naga Chaitanya became public in 2021, it is unknown when Raj divorced Shhyamali De. Pictures and videos Samantha posted of Raj on social media added to the speculation before the couple made things official with a yogic ceremony at the Isha Yoga Centre in Coimbatore in December 2025.

Samantha is currently on maternity leave and has continued to document bits of her routine, including her workouts, while preparing for motherhood.

Samantha and Raj are expecting their first child in December, although an official due date has not been announced.- EndsPublished By: Prachi aryaPublished On: Sep 14, 2026 19:11 ISTALSO READ | Pregnancy was a surprise: Samantha says she and Raj were okay not having kids
